Dupree Promoted At Arbitron

Arbitron has promoted Linda Dupree to the new position of executive VP, Portable People Meter (PPM)/new product development. Most recently, she was senior VP, Portable People Meter/new product development.

In her new role, Dupree will continue to direct Arbitron's

contribution to the development of "Project Apollo," the joint effort with Billboard Radio Monitor parent company VNU to develop a new, national marketing research service based in part on the PPM. In addition, Ms. Dupree will also oversee the development of additional new services that use the advanced capabilities of PPM technology, with emphasis on services for TV, print and emerging media.

"Linda and her team have done a spectacular job in bringing Project Apollo from a gleam in our eye to a large-scale pilot backed by some of the biggest advertisers in the world," Arbitron president and CEO Steve Morris said in a release announcing the promotion. "Her recent presentations at ESOMAR in Shanghai and the ARF in New York, made jointly with our clients, have displayed tangible evidence that Project Apollo has the power to reveal the significant consumer targeting capabilities of new and traditional media."

Dupree has been in sales, management and executive positions with Arbitron since 1990. Prior to joining Arbitron, she held various media positions including planning supervision at Grey Advertising and field marketing management at the Stroh Brewery Company.
