Planners and Presidents

In recognition of the significant impact meetings and conventions can have on Mexico's economy, Mexico President Vicente Fox met with Meeting Professionals International (MPI) President and CEO Edwin L. Griffin Jr. on August 15 at Los Pinos, Fox's official residence, to address the next steps for this

historic partnership as well as MPI's expansion in the country. Key components of the plan to bolster Mexico's meeting industry are safety and security initiatives, as well as support for legislation being considered by the Mexican Congress that would make meetings in the country tax exempt.
