OpenService and Mazu Networks Partner to Bring Combined NBA and SIEM Functionality to Market for...

Integration of a Full Function NBA and SIEM System Provides IT Operations and Security Teams with Greater Network Intelligence and Improved Response and Remediation Capabilities

MARLBOROUGH and CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- OpenService, Inc., a leader in Enterprise Event Management (EEM) solutions,

and Mazu Networks, the leading1 provider of Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) systems, today announced a technology partnership to integrate Mazu with the OpenService ThreatCenter and LogCenter, the company's Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) products.

Through the integration, Mazu's network traffic intelligence is correlated with event data collected from across the enterprise by the OpenService platform. This allows IT and security analysts to view Mazu alerts or events in the OpenService console, in addition to data sent from other network, system and security devices. Operators can then use Mazu to obtain contextual information on any event or alert, regardless of the source. This detailed information enables IT and security analysts to immediately identify, isolate and remediate any potential operations or security threat across the enterprise, even within the most complex of network environments.

"On a daily basis, security and IT operations teams are faced with a daunting number of meaningless alerts, which cloud their ability to identify and respond to real security threats," said Ted Joseph, CEO, OpenService. "By partnering with Mazu to combine leading NBA and SIEM applications, enterprises gain the optimal functionality from these two technologies in a tightly integrated solution, enabling our customers to target legitimate threats and respond quickly and intelligently."

The integration of a full function NBA and SIEM solution will provide enterprises with improved visibility into network activity and the ability to more effectively monitor, identify and remediate network operations and security threats. Competitive solutions that claim to deliver NBA and SIEM functionality from a single platform lack the functionality, performance and ease of use provided by the integrated OpenService/Mazu solution.

"The integration of Mazu with the OpenService SIEM platform provides IT operations and security teams with a distinct technological advantage as compared to other solutions available on the market," said Paul Brady, CEO, Mazu Networks. "Giving customers access to a solution that combines strong NBA and SIEM capabilities enables them to fully understand the activity on their network so they can more easily and methodically mitigate IT operations and security threats."
