Department of Homeland Security Selects Govplace to Provide IT Products and Solutions.

IRVINE, Calif. -- Govplace has been awarded a contract for information technology products and solutions as part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) newly formed

FirstSource program. Govplace, located in Irvine, California, specializes in providing IT products and solutions to government agencies. The DHS created the FirstSource program to consolidate IT procurement across the Department's disperse agencies. "These contract arrangements will help us speed up the delivery of IT commodities and ensure that we have a flexible and cost-effective process moving forward," said Scott Charbo, DHS Chief Information Officer, in a press release by the department. "It will also help further the integration of our information technology systems across the department, which is one of our most important goals." The FirstSource contract is estimated to include up to $3 billion of IT products and solutions over a possible five year period.
