San Diego May Become a New Hub of Activity to the Growing Open Source Community as It Opens Its Doors to Excited Attendees, Exhibitors, and Sponsors This Week
As the crowd dissipates from the internationally famous Comic-Con event last month, San Diegans are gearing up for the next big event: the One Course Source - Open Source Conference.
OCS-OSC will draw IT leaders and Open Source professionals from all over southern California to discuss the growing demand for alternative technology solutions in an ever-changing corporate IT environment. This event will last two days in the fall and include a seminar series, exhibit hall, networking reception, and evening keynote. Topics to be covered in the seminar series include Open Source applications, development, operating systems and security.
Date: October 3rd - 4th
Location: San Diego Ramada Inn and Conference Center
OCS-OSC is sponsored this year by One Course Source, Technical Training Resources, Edustone CES, and iCellini. The planning committee is now accepting additional sponsorships for the event's daily proceedings and evening networking reception, which will lead up to the keynote talk by Dr. Damian Conway of the Perl community.
Dr. Conway will be presenting "Geek Eye for the Suit Guy," a discussion of the pros and cons of Open Source solutions in the workplace, and why it is essential for any growing business to implement this relatively new technology. This talk will prove to be the most popular of the event's discussions as it applies to every technology professional in any business size, not to mention its keynote speaker is a world renowned lecturer and author.

OCS-OSC will be an essential meeting ground for today's IT managers, system administrators, software engineers, technical trainers and other professionals who are interested in discovering how Open Source technologies can be implemented in Corporate IT. Registration for vendor space in the exhibit hall is now open and filling quickly. Attendee registration is open as well with Early-bird registration approaching in September.
The OCS-OSC Planning Committee anticipates a very successful and exciting turnout this year and looks forward to heading up the next big thing to sweep San Diego.
