AirDefense Announces Free Educational Seminar Series "War of the Airwaves" in Select Cities...

AirDefense Wireless Security Experts to Highlight New and Emerging Risks, and to Demonstrate Best Practices for a Layered Approach to Secure and Risk-free Deployments

ATLANTA -- AirDefense, the innovator that launched the wireless LAN security market, today announced a series of free educational

wireless intrusion detection and prevention seminars throughout North America, "War of the Airwaves." AirDefense invites representatives of enterprises, retailers, healthcare organizations, financial services and government agencies to attend a local event and learn about the latest wireless security threats and hacks, and best practices for security and compliance strategies.

With growing wireless networks creating an increase in worker mobility and the ever-present danger of new hacking tools and techniques, the need to understand the serious threat an insecure wireless network can present is stronger than ever. "War of the AirWaves" will feature technical demonstrations of wireless LAN security pitfalls, best practice strategies for defending IT assets and corporate information, and real-world case studies of deployment and defense. The nine city tour will be hosted by AirDefense's team of security experts, including CTO Amit Sinha, CSO Richard Rushing and Vice President of Product Strategy David Thomas.

"Wireless networks present organizations with a great opportunity to enjoy the benefits of flexible mobile computing, however the convenience can easily be erased at the first sign of a data breach," said Richard Rushing, chief security officer, AirDefense. "Vulnerabilities in the wireless network pose an immediate threat to corporate assets and sensitive customer information. It is crucial for any organization managing a wireless network to continue to be educated about the evolving landscape of wireless threats and how best the company can prepare its network and its users to secure their environment and stay compliant with internal and external policies."
