Commenting on the event, LASEC President Kathy Schloessman said, "Since it was our fifth year, we felt it was fitting to take the event back to where NFL football was played in Los Angeles. It was an incredible opportunity for the guests to be on the field of the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, participating in drills like NFL players would."
LASEC added a "Play Like A Pro" competition to this year's event, giving guests a chance to run, kick, catch and throw a football on the field where many former NFL legends once played. Current and former NFL players joined guests at each competition, coaching and teaching them various aspects of the game. Players involved with "Play Like A Pro" included Jerry Porter, DeAngelo Hall, Luis Castillo, Christian Okoye, Marquez Pope, Michael Husted, Toi Cook, Casey Clausen and Greg Townsend.
"Our guests really loved being on the field and having such close contact to the NFL players," said Longo Toyota/Scion/Lexus President Tom Rudnai, a sponsor of NFL 101/201. "It was an amazing experience to have Jerry Porter teach us techniques on catching a touchdown pass."
In addition to these activities, guests enjoyed a photo opportunity with PhotoWorks, attractions such as "Be An NFL TV Analyst" with Fox Sports, "Be An NFL Radio Play-By-Play Announcer" with AM 570 and an equipment demonstration with Green Bay Packers Equipment Manager Gordon Batty.
