Network and Security Veteran Kin Mitra Joins as VP Sales, Americas

ATLANTA -- Steelbox Networks(TM), Inc., makers of network video distribution and storage devices, today announced the appointment of network and security sales veteran Kin Mitra as Vice President of Sales, Americas. Prior to joining Steelbox, Mitra served as Regional Director at Check Point Software Technologies, Inc., a market leader in the worldwide enterprise firewall, personal firewall, data security and VPN markets.

Mitra brings more than 26 years of networking and security industry experience to Steelbox, and will be responsible for directing the company's sales team as it works with customers and partners in the growing Americas market to help them build IP video surveillance networks.

At Check Point, Mitra started as the eighth employee in the U.S. and over his 11 years with the company, successfully built the U.S. and Latin American sales divisions. Most recently, Mitra oversaw operations in the Southern United States, Caribbean, and Latin America, where he grew his division an average of 20 percent year over year for the previous five years. He helped create strategic partnerships with customers and channels and was responsible for ensuring Check Point Software Technologies products became the prevalent brand in the marketplace. Additionally, Mitra was credited for building the company's Federal sales division and was instrumental in gaining product certifications for the US market.

Prior to Check Point, Kin worked at Nortel/Bay Networks as Regional Technical Support Manager and as National Channels Manager. His consultative sales methodology has helped him win a variety of clients in the commercial, education, health care, state and local government, and federal sectors. Kin holds a BA in Computer Science and Geophysics from Emory University.
