Perini Corporation Ranked No. 1 in the Boston Globe's Annual Globe 100 List of Best Performing...

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Perini Corporation (NYSE:PCR) announced today it was ranked first among Massachusetts' "Top 100" publicly traded companies by the Boston Globe in its annual "Globe 100" listing released today.

The Globe 100 evaluates the best-performing publicly traded corporations

based in Massachusetts by how well they increased sales, profits, and returns for shareholders during 2006 and then derives a composite score, which is calculated by Standard and Poor's. The Globe's categories are designed to encompass the qualities that make for a successful company. To qualify, a company must be publicly traded on a major exchange, based in Massachusetts and must have been profitable for the past two years.

With total revenue for 2006 of $3.0 billion, a 76% increase over 2005, Perini ranked at the top of the list for one-year change in revenue for publicly held companies in Massachusetts. In addition, Perini ranked fourth overall for one-year change in profit margin percentage, tenth overall in total revenue, and twenty-fifth overall in return on equity.
