Leading provider of enterprise IT management solutions continues international growth momentum and expands in the US
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- alfabet AG, the leading provider of integrated standard-based solutions for enterprise IT planning, today announced that it is one of only two vendors
named as Gartner's "Cool Vendors in Enterprise Architecture" in a March 15, 2007 report. The report notes that ignoring the crucial concerns that these vendors address will result in "at best, haphazard alignment between IT and the business strategy."The Gartner report written by Greta A. James and Robert A. Handler describes alfabet's planningIT((R)) solution as combining: "...enterprise architecture capabilities with support for project planning and tracking. It has a number of innovative workflow and collaboration capabilities, as well as the ability to detect conflicts between projects and noncompliant projects."
"We believe Gartner's selection of alfabet further validates our position as the market leader for IT management solutions," said Erik Masing, CEO of alfabet. "Our ability to uniquely address the needs of some of the world's largest enterprises looking to optimize their IT investments is reflected in our 'cool vendor' recognition and is helping to drive our US expansion."
The expansion, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts and led by Mr. Masing personally, is a direct result of strong demand from existing global customers like DaimlerChrysler, T-Systems and Deloitte that are optimizing their IT spending and performance and want to achieve similar benefits in their US operations.
"We were very impressed with planningIT's integrated methodology which now enables us to plan and manage our IT services so that we can support business processes in the best way possible," commented Hans Moertl, CIO of Mercedes Car Group at DaimlerChrysler which is in the process of rolling out planningIT in 40 countries.
Mr. Masing, continued, "Furthermore our initial investments in US market development uncovered pervasive US corporate demand due to the need to maximize benefits through optimizing IT investments, particularly with the broad adoption of Service Oriented Applications (SOA) and Software as a Service (SaaS)."
alfabet will be showcasing planningIT at booth 125 at the Gartner Symposium IT XPO from April 22 - 26th 2007 in San Francisco.
