VASTRA FROLUNDA, Sweden -- The biomaterials company Artimplant (STO:ARTIB), engages Associate Professor Bengt Furberg, M.D., Ph.D., as Vice President Medical Affairs, effective immediately. Furberg is a physician, scientist and writer. In addition to Artimplant he has assignments in Bactiguard AB
Furberg has a wide-ranging medical background and has published some 40 articles, among others in sports medicine and clinical trials, an area in which he also writes educational literature. Moreover, Furberg has worked as a medical professional, both as head of a department of clinical physiology and as head of an occupational health centre. In addition he has long experience from the industry. For ten years Furberg was medical director of GlaxoWellcome Sweden and his latest assignment was as medical director of Bactiguard AB. He has many years experience of international requirements for obtaining regulatory clearances within pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
