Sweet 16 Magazine Names "16 Sweetest" Teen Stars.

CHESTERTON, Ind. -- Forget the Hollywood party scene! There's a crop of young celebrities out there who are dedicated and talented, friendly and wholesome. And they are named in the list of the "16 Sweetest Stars 16 and Under" featured in the February/March issue of Sweet 16 Magazine.

"We considered a large number of Hollywood's hottest actors, actresses, and recording artists for this special feature," says Mary Lou Carney, Sweet 16's Editor-in-Chief. "Those who made the list are the young teens who not only have big talent, but big hearts. These are truly the 'nice kids' of Hollywood!"

Headlining the list is 13-year-old actress AnnaSophia Robb, who will star in February's big screen adaptation of Bridge to Terabithia and five other upcoming films. Robb, who says her non-acting hobbies include jumping on her backyard trampoline, playing lacrosse, and blogging on her website, told Sweet 16 she chooses her roles carefully. "I read the script to decide if it's a story worth telling," she says. "Could this story help someone or make someone feel good? It helps me decide if leaving my family, school, and friends for months is going to be worth it."

The complete list of Sweet 16's "16 Sweetest Stars 16 and Under" is:

AnnaSophia Robb, Miley Cyrus, Dakota Fanning, Freddie Highmore, Josh Hutcherson, JoJo Levesque, Lil JJ, Ali Lohan, Kyle Massey, Keke Palmer, Emma Roberts, the "Smoosh" sisters, Jamie Lynn Spears, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, Emma Watson, and Devon Werkheiser.

Also in the February/March issue of Sweet 16:

* Britni Carriere, a teen from Texas, tells readers about her harrowing experience -- hiding in her bedroom closet to dial 9-1-1 as her home was burglarized.

* Nebraska teen Jessica Kuhr recounts the touching story of how her dog, Shadow, was hit by a truck and left for dead. Today, Jessica and Shadow (who is now blind, but certified as a therapy dog) visit nursing homes and schools.

* Georgian, Kristi Martinelli, reveals what it's like to be a real-life teenage licensed Private Investigator.

Sweet 16 is a hip, new magazine for girls read by over 500,000 teenagers (ages 11-17). Its mission is to connect with the whole girl -- body, mind, and spirit -- by promoting an exciting, positive approach to life. Sweet 16's hallmark is true stories -- by teens, for teens. It also offers more typical teen-magazine fare, including fashion, beauty, celebrity, embarrassing moments, and advice columns. Published by Guideposts, a company with more than 60 years' experience in creating magazines that generate loyal readers, Sweet 16 is a breath of fresh air in the teen market.
