Midas Music Group Nashville Taps Well-Respected Song-Plugger Jennifer Johnson as Creative Director of Publishing.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Midas Music Group, the country music-based subsidiary of Midas Records headed by Ron Clapper and Nashville hitmakers Keith Follese and Brad Allen, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Johnson as Creative Director of the label's growing publishing division. "We are so excited to have someone as passionate about songs as Jennifer is," Follese says. "It is a rare quality. Some people just live for music, and she is one of them."
Johnson, who officially began her duties in August, joins a multi-talented cast of executives at the independent label. In addition to Follese and Allen, who head up Midas Nashville's A&R department, the label's staff includes five of today's most experienced music industry veterans, who spearhead the company's marketing, sales, distribution, operations, artist development and publicity efforts: Mike Martinovich, Stan Moress, Bob Morrison, Al Schlitz and Alan Siegel.
Johnson, who moved from Lafayette, Louisiana, to Nashville to assume her new position, joins the Midas team after a couple of years of success as an independent song-plugger. Her first major cut was "I'd Find You," which was written by John Goodwin and Bobby Terry and appears on Chris Cagel's 2005 album Anywhere But Here.
"I'm very excited about working with Brad and Keith and the entire team at Midas, and am inspired by the way they're already breaking acts at the label," she says. "Everybody here really knows how to get things done, and important decisions are made quickly and efficiently. I'm really looking forward to being part of this growing company."
Midas has a staff of ten writers, which include Chris Cavanaugh, Billy Crain, Scott Davis, Adrienne Follese, Keith Follese, and artists Buf Lawson, Lindsey Grant, Eric Pittarelli, Michelle Rene' and Jessie Daniels. Buffy and Eric are part of Bomshel on Curb records, and Lindsey Grant will release her first single on Midas records in December. The publishing company currently has the top 25 single "A good man" by Emerson Drive climbing the charts, and 2 chart topping singles "Everyday" and "The Noise" by budding CCM artist Jessie Daniels.
