eFunda and ThomasNet.com Form Alliance to Provide Engineers With Worldwide Access to Thousands of Industrial Products and Services.

NEW YORK -- eFunda (engineering Fundamentals), a leading online portal for the engineering community, and ThomasNet.com, the leading destination Web site for industrial sourcing, announced today an alliance that offers eFunda's engineering users the option of sourcing products and services directly from eFunda.com.

Through this alliance, eFunda.com will now feature access to ThomasNet's content, allowing engineers to source directly from the eFunda.com site. Engineers will have the ability to sort their results according to product or service type, company type, availability of catalog content or CAD drawings, as well as specific certifications including ISO and AS 9100.

"This partnership is an invaluable asset for our site users," said Cheng Wu, CEO, eFunda. "We are now able to serve an unmatched array of features ranging from comprehensive, fully searchable products, services and online parts catalogs, to millions of manufacturer-specific CAD drawings for use by engineers and designers at the click of a mouse."

eFunda's home page (http://www.efunda.com/) now includes a ThomasNet search box, which provides an additional source to engineers when using resource tools and references critical for their jobs, such as materials, design, process oriented information, articles, formulas and online calculators. With the addition of this function, eFunda has created easy access to ThomasNet's database of more than 650,000 companies classified in 67,000 product categories.

"Our alliance with eFunda.com, has made ThomasNet.com's resources available to even more engineers who are searching for specific content that ties into their specifying needs," said Eileen Markowitz, president, ThomasNet. "Enabling the engineering community to access product and capabilities information during the design process enhances the user's online experience and should translate into significant productivity gains."

This additional content is accessible free of charge to all users.
