one of the first known photojournalists to use a 35mm camera to capture candid images of prewar Europe, died March 29, in Great Barrington, Mass., at the age of 97. The Hungarian-born photographer was known for his images of Albert Einstein, 1941, in front of a blackboard in a Princeton classroom, and

the image of Benito Mussolini, tweaking his nose at a conference in 1935, which ran on Newsweek's cover in 1941.
