June 15 Is Deadline for Knight-Batten Award Submissions
Nominations for the 2006 Knight-Batten awards for innovative journalism will be accepted until June 15th.
Given by the Institute of Interactive Journalism, the awards honor creative solutions in online journalism "that launched online interactions, searchable databases,
sensory or citizen monitoring, participatory venues, citizen media efforts, entrepreneurial initiatives and other novel ideas in the past year."
The award's grand prize is $10,000, plus $5,000 in Special Distinction Awards. There is an additional $1,000 Wild Card Award. For more information, go to http://www.j-lab.org/.
