'Anderson (S.C.) Independent Mail' Appoints Hughes President/GM
Frank "Butch" Hughes has been named president and general manager of the Anderson (S.C.) Independent Mail.
Hughes has served as general manager of The Commercial Appeal in Memphis since 2004. He will now oversee the day-to-day operations of the advertising, circulation,
production, marketing, online, human resources, and information technology departments at the Independent-Mail, and will be responsible for the newspaper's direct mail and the Clemson University publications group.
Previously, Hughes was vice president of advertising at the San Luis Obispo (Calif.) Telegram-Tribune and the Evansville (Ind.) Courier & Press. He later was advertising director at the Knoxville (Tenn.) News Sentinel.
