Riley Quits as Editor in Roanoke to Take CQ Post

The editor of The Roanoke Times is resigning to become editor and senior vice president at Congressional Quarterly in Washington.

The Roanoke newspaper reports today that no successor has been chosen for Mike Riley.

The 47 year old has guided the paper since 1998.

During his tenure, roanoke.com won national awards for best newspaper Web site and multimedia reporting.

Riley says the new position will enable him to combine his interests in political journalism and online media.
