2002 - Timothy White, the influential editor-in-chief of the weekly music publication Billboard since 1991, dies suddenly after an apparent heart attack. He is 50.
2001 - Tracy Lawrence and wife Becca welcome a new baby daughter, Skylar JoAnn Lawrence. Skylar, weighing 5 lbs, 15 oz., is the couple's first child.
2001 - Jazz composer and arranger Arturo "Chico" O'Farrill dies in New York of natural causes. He is 79.
2000 - Marc Anthony headlines a benefit concert for The Ronald McDonald House of New York at the city's famed Radio City Music Hall.
