First Seminole Fair A Success For Strates

The all-new Seminole County Fair, held Feb. 26-March 7 at the Seminole Towne Center in Sanford, Fla., was a huge success, with Strates Shows making a donation of $25,607 to the Grove Counseling Center afterward.

The fair was a cooperative venture between Strates Shows,

the Seminole Towne Center mall, and the Grove Counseling Center. The Center is a local non-profit agency that offers substance abuse prevention and treatment programs to youth and adults in Seminole County and surrounding areas.

Ride discounts included Burger King $10 Unlimited Ride Days, Family Fun Days on Saturday afternoons, and Mall Mania on Sundays. Admission and parking to the event were free.

Special attractions were the Marionette Star Theater; the Circle C Petting Zoo, which had an emu, zebra, camel, goats, sheep and many other barnyard animals; local musical entertainment on a Community Stage; and a children's activity area. Strates brought in more than 30 major rides. Its gigantic kiddieland was a highlight.

Kids Kraft Korner was where youngsters made crafts or participated in a number of other fun activities for free. Organizers were pleased with the public's response and are making plans to make it an annual event.
