Beth Robertson, vice president of communications for the International Assn. of Amusement Parks and Attractions, announced the appointment of Scott Towle to the recently-created position of media relations manager. Towle was formerly a media liaison for the American Trucking Assn. Robertson said Towle's

immediate duties will include helping develop a proactive, strategic communications plan that includes components to publicize the industry's safety record and the importance of America's amusement parks and attractions to the U.S. economy. "This industry has a tremendous story that I look forward to getting out to every media outlet I can find," said Towle.

Prior to his tenure with the American Trucking Assn., Towle worked in various public communication capacities with USA Today, the U.S. Congress, The National Wildlife Federation, and The U.S. Dept. of Transportation.
