The 14th U.S. location of GameWorks will be built within the Block E entertainment complex in downtown Minneapolis. It is now in the design stage and is set to open July 4, 2002.
Cuningham Group of Marina del Rey, Calif., is the architect for the 35,000 square foot
project. This is the 11th GameWorks on which Cuningham has served as architects. GameWorks is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vivendi Universal, which also owns the Universal Studios theme parks in Orlando, Hollywood, and Osaka, Japan.
GameWorks locations include full service restaurants, and various themed zones including vertical reality games, interactive sports games, midway games, and interactive racing games.
In addition to the current 13 U.S. locations, there are two international locations and seven smaller Game Zone locations, similar in nature to the larger facilities, but without food and beverage service.
