Volunteers Needed

In the spirit of giving, volunteers are needed to help stuff bags for Actors' Equity 18th annual Stephen J. Falat Basket Project. Each year, holiday gift packages go to New York area hospitals, AIDS hospices, and other charities. The Christmas baskets contain merchandise that is new and has been donated

by corporations and individuals.

The volunteers are needed to fill the baskets, from Mon., Dec. 8 to Fri., Dec. 19 from 10:30 am-4:30 pm at the Actors' Equity building, 165 West 46th Street, 2nd floor. Deliveries will take place on Sat., Dec. 13 and Sat., Dec. 20. Volunteer drivers with cars are also needed.

Stephen J. Falat, an actor who died of AIDS in 1991, started the project single-handedly in 1985. The project now has dozens of volunteers and delivers 2,500 baskets.
