What Is Pilot Season? Where Do I Stay? How Do I Get Around? Rental Cars How Will I Stay in...

By Laura Weinert(The following sections were compiled by Behnoosh Khalili, Lori Talley, Pamela Bock, and John Carey)
Publication: Back Stage West
Date: Thursday, January 25 2001
Hollywood loves a sequel, and after the popularity of Back Stage West's complete guide for the newly arrived actor, "Welcome to L.A.," last August, we at the office thought it might be a good idea to offer a similar primer to that special breed of performer and temporary L.A. resident, the Pilot Season

Hopeful. Every year, our East Coast and Midwestern brethren land in droves, trying to land the next big network show. While the chances are slim, at the very least it's a good chance to escape the snow for a couple of months.

This swanky, upscale hotel plays host to countless press junkets for feature films, so stars abound doing interviews promoting their latest projects, and many visiting celebs stay here as well. You're bound to run into or at least catch a glimpse of a famous face at the bar, Windows Lounge, or the elegant restaurant, Gardens.

Located on Sunset Blvd., between San Vicente and La Cienega boulevards, in the middle of the Sunset Strip, this upscale fashion district is replete with chic sidewalk cafés and pricey boutiques that only the stars could afford to patronize, so it makes sense that you'll see them as you window shop for haute couture.
