What were they smoking?

If I could use only one word to describe the label for Mendocino Wine Company's new Zig Zag Zinfandel, I'd have to say: smokin'! As a tribute to Mendocino's most (in)famous agricultural crop--no, I'm not talking about grapes--the bright orange label is about the same size and shape as a package

of Zig-Zag rolling papers, and is printed with a similar font. I don't know how the label got past the watchful eye of the TTB, or the makers of Zig-Zag papers, but you might want to pick up a few collectors' bottles before they get yanked. I can just imagine the sort of wine reviews that will be written about Zig Zag Zin: "This herbal Zin has a certain weedy character, with grassy notes and a smoky finish ..."
