Anonymous Gift Funds Horticulture Professorship at Norfolk, Va., University.

Jul. 31--Old Dominion University, in conjunction with the Norfolk Botanical Garden, has received an anonymous $1 million donation to hire the garden's first-ever research professor, according to a letter sent to board members at the garden.

ODU and the garden are working to establish the J. Robert Stiffler Chair of Horticulture, according to the letter. The chair will honor Bob Stiffler, an author and gardening expert who has offered Hampton Roads residents gardeni
