RENO, Nev. -- NORTHERN LIGHTS PROJECT, NEVADA
BVT is conducting a close-spaced magnetometer survey scheduled for completion the week of July 26, 2004 which will define mineralized trends within andesitic and granitic rocks covered by sand. Fifteen (15) additional claims have been added
Phase I Exploration includes trenching along the margins of the outcrops to further define strike and dip of mineralization and definition of fault zones. The trenches will be mapped and sampled. The permit has been filed with the US Forest Service. An archaeological survey will be completed.
The property lies east of the Aurora mine (currently being developed by Mineral Ventures, Inc. TSX: MVG) and the Borealis mine (exploration by Golden Phoenix Minerals OTC: GPXM). The Northern Lights Project is mostly covered by sand dunes with only small areas on either end which show mineralization. These areas of outcropping mineralization include silicified andesite of possible Mesozoic age and quartz veined granite of probable Cretaceous age.
The Northern Lights northern target is developed within a Cretaceous age granitic intrusive. Vein zones are composed of calcite, coxcomb quartz and opaline silica in float trains and subcrop. A northwest trending fault appears to control mineralization. The southern target consists of a 150 feet wide zone of bleached and silicified volcanics. Drilling by Western Mining in the sand and gravel covered area between the north and south targets found that they are connected at depth. The combined length of the mineralized structure appears to be nearly 10,000 feet.
COTTONWOOD PROJECT, NEVADA
BVT has completed the initial geological mapping at the Cottonwood Property and has added fifteen (15) claims to extend our claim block. The BLM permit has been filed and an August 2004 date is set to begin the Phase I Exploration, a set of relatively close spaced trenches along the trends of highest grade mineralization to determine the strike and dip of high-grade gold associated with faulting.
Geochemical samples were collected from fault zones and mineralized intrusive throughout the property. The mineralized chips have assayed (by ALS/Chemex of Reno, NV & Vancouver, BC) up to +1.0 oz/ton gold and are anomalous in silver. GOLDFIELD WEST PROJECT, NEVADA
BVT continues its Phase I Exploration Program at Goldfield West. Currently, drilling continues with a deep vertical hole (NZ-9) at the Nevada Eagle Target. Next, SZ-2 and SZ-3 in the Southern Target zone will be drilled to a deeper level in search of the eastern feeder. A deep vertical hole will then be drilled to determine the stratigraphy.
BVT reports that the results of the previous 13-hole drill program were released on July 7, 2004. Assay results are still pending on five holes on the Southern Target. Three other holes (NZ-6, NZ-7 & NZ-8) have been drilled at Nevada Eagle and metallurgical testing is ongoing by ALS/Chemex (Reno, Nevada/Vancouver B.C). Geologic data is being reviewed to develop an additional drilling program.
The Goldfield West property is situated in the western Goldfield district, Nevada, in an area that has historically produced over five million ounces of gold. Aside from early prospecting and limited production on and around this property in the 1800s, exploration was limited until the 1980s, when several major mining companies (i.e.: Placer Dome Inc. (NYSE: PDG), Freeport McMoran Copper and Gold Inc. (NYSE: FCX), Kennecott Exploration Co. (LSE: RIO), North Mining Inc.) initiated programs.
