Improve Yourself.... It May Encourage Others

Friday, July 21 2006

There is no one I know like Marshall Goldsmith. He is a master leadership coach, and is very generous with his knowledge, materials and tools. I was fortunate to meet him and listen to hiim live last year in Orlando.

The Marshall Goldsmith Library is a treasure trove of knowledge. I'll keep this post short so you can dive in and read, listen to, and view some of the top experts in leadership.... in particular, Marshall.

A short article I like is called, To Help Others Develop, Start With Yourself. I like it because I work with young, newer sales managers or team leads who are not confident enough yet to talk about their shortcomings or areas to improve upon. They ARE very good at finding fault with others though, as many of us are.

One of my clients, who is a young manager, likes to point at people when he talks. The pointing reminds me about how when you have one finger pointing at someone else, four more are pointing back to you.

Enjoy.
