Coastal Vending buys Charleston Canteen routes and becomes a Canteen franchise
Coastal Vending and Food Services Inc., based in North Charleston, S.C., recently acquired a large portion of Canteen Vending Services Inc.'s Charleston, S.C. branch and has become a Canteen franchise, according to John Trego, president and CEO of Coastal Vending and Food Service. The acquisition
He estimated the sales of this business at $2.6 million, giving his company between $5 million and $6 million in annual sales. The Charleston routes have been folded into Coastal Vending and Food Service's existing routes.
Trego said he has retained about 12 of the Charleston Canteen's 23 employees.
