While Terry O'Connor followed a fairly traditional route to his career as a manufacturers' representative, he refers to a college experience as the turning point that firmly pointed him in the right direction.

O'Connor of O'Connor & Associates, Hoffman Estates, Illinois, explains that while a student at Illinois State in the '80s, he was a member of a fraternity that enjoyed the dubious distinction of being on probation. Much like the John Belushi-led Delta house in the comedy classic Animal House, O'Connor humorously describes the situation as "being on double secret probation."
