Memorable Flight Past Mt. Shasta to Visit Client in Oregon

I fly a small plane around the west coast to meet clients and conduct buyer/seller meetings, and I occasionally write about the more memorable flights in this blog. Last Tuesday, I flew right by Mt. Shasta and on past a raging forest fire to visit a new client in Central Oregon.

The time between when a prospective client contacts us and signing them up as a client to represent them in a sale of their businesses can be measured in years.  Sometimes it is a quite a bit shorter.  Last week I received a call from a business owner in Oregon, and he was in situation with multiple buyers already interested in his business.  He needed help immediate help, so we arranged for a visit this week.

I noticed during the pre-flight planning that the route took me straight past Mt. Shasta.  For fun, I had recently figured out a way to bolt a camera on the wing of my plane so I decided to try it on this flight. I have a small Canon G10, and I had noticed you can buy a simple remote control for it, which made me think of putting it out on the wing.  I tried it once before, but it only worked for about three shots and shut down for the rest of the flight.  It turned out the remote came with a dead battery.

This time it stayed alive for the entire flight so I was able to get some good shots of flying by Mt. Shasta.

Later in the flight, and on the way home later that day after the meeting, there were numerous forest fires on each side of my route.

Many long time readers know that I use a single engine airplane in my business as a mergers and acquisition advisor. I enjoy the challenge, beauty and focus that it takes to fly around the west coast.
