Inter Parfums SA, recently acquired the Nickel male fragrance brand. Nickel was only created in 1996, and allegedly was sold for $7.7 million on sales of $5 million-not bad going, all things considered, given the slow down in prestige markets.

All the more surprising, then, that new owners Inter Parfums would risk the credentials of their new prestige asset by immediately launching a mass variant, as a retailer exclusive line of shaving preps, in France's Monoprix
