The cultures, customs, lifestyles and traditions of Hong Kong are marked by Western and Eastern influences. Despite a considerable Western influence on the Hong Kong lifestyle, it is still steeped in some native customs and way of life. Its bicultural dimension has put Hongkong in good stead.

As the plane started its descent, I could see the stormy blue waters ram into the hilly islands. Then suddenly, skyscrapers emerged between the hills as the plane approached the water. Since land is a precious and scarce resource in Hong Kong, the Kai Tak airport was built on a landfill in
