Baby & Me Gifts offers stylish gifts for babies and their mothers. Founder and owner Jackie Myers gets an edge in this ultra-competitive space by tapping the latest e-commerce and online marketing tools.  She recently switched to a BigCommerce shopping cart solution and is using their integrated marketing functionality to drive traffic and sales.

Side note:  I’ve come across BigCommerce several times now and see them as one of the dominant players in the space. I’m evaluating becoming a reseller in the near future because I think they provide a robust solution, at an affordable price, for small business owners.

Baby & Me Gifts Facebook Fan page

She has deployed BigCommerce's new SocialShop feature on the Baby & Me Gifts Facebook fan page, which allows her customers to quickly see what products are new to the site and lets them share products with their friends on Facebook.  She's also added other features to the Facebook page, such as an fbml box for email sign up, and an fbml landing page that encourages visitors to become fans and suggest the page to their friends. As far as doing online sales successfully, I think Jackie is one of the best I've seen, especially for Facebook.

Jackie also cross-markets the promotions she's running on Facebook using BigCommerce's site marketing tools that allow her to easily edit and add pages and banners to her e-commerce site. In addition to driving new and repeat customers, Myers believes that the integration and professional design of the Facebook SocialShop page makes the company seem even more reputable and polished. Her SocialShop application and online marketing savvy sets them apart from the rest of her competitors, most of whom have yet to catch the social commerce wave.
