Confession
time, how many of you traveler's out there actually remembered Mother's day
(it's this Sunday, by the way) and prepared for it? Did you buy Tulips from
Truth
time? My bat-phone beeped at me about
three weeks ago to tell me, "Mother's Day is Coming" and I looked at
the message, shut off the beeping, made a mental note, then promptly fell
asleep that night and forgot all about it.
Shut up, I'm not the only one!!
If you stop
your busy life long enough to think about it, travelers actually have an
advantage here. The world is your oyster
and there are marvelous things to shop for while you're on a trip. Remember too, just because you bought
something at the airport gift shop, that doesn't mean you have to write
"sorry, I found this in the gift shop" on the card… A cowboy hat
purchased in Colorado, or a fossil from Montana, pottery from Arizona, polished
gems from Utah, or a fine leather purse from a shop in Wyoming, it is
"Authentic regional merchandise" nonetheless!
If you're thinking about logging in quickly and sending mom an Amazon.com gift certificate, then shame on you! What kind of creativity have you shown? She suffered to see you brought into the world, she changed your diapers, fed you.... ah, I'll spare you the rest, I'm sure you've heard it from your own mom.
