Customers of Haggen Food & Pharmacy stores raised $25,973 for Whatcom County schools during the last five months of 2006.

The money was generated through the School Bucks program, a partnership between Haggen Food & Pharmacy stores and Kraft Foods. Participation in the program is free to parents, teachers and community members with a Haggen C.A.R.D.

During registration, customers designate one of 78 Whatcom County schools to receive funds raised from their purchase of Haggen and Kraft products. Customers don't need to collect labels nor receipts. The School
