Troy, Mich.-Based Nursery to Drop Crafts Line, Focus on Plant Sales.

Jul. 19--Frank's Nursery & Crafts Inc. is dropping crafts supplies from its 170 stores, but the nation's largest lawn and garden specialty retailer has turned to an executive with roots in the crafts industry to engineer a turnaround.

Later this year, the Troy retailer also will start phasing in a new name, Frank's Nursery. That reflects what new chief executive officer Bruce Dale says is its strategy to focus on live and artificial plants and related items, leaving crafts to special
