H&M to Open First Asia Store in March

Stockholm, Sweden-based H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB, an international brand that offers fashion-forward clothing at low prices, plans to open a store in Hong Kong this month, according to The Wall Street Journal. The Hong Kong store, the company's first in Asia, will be followed by two outlets

in Shanghai in April. H&M will launch its M by Madonna collection at the Hong Kong store on March 10, two weeks before it will be available in other markets. H&M sources more than 60 percent of its products in Asia, of which more than half are from China. With retail locations close to its manufacturing base, the company expects to minimize lead times for its Asian outlets. Additionally, H&M plans to open a store in Japan next year.
