H&M Opens First Two Stores in Dubai
Stockholm, Sweden-based H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB, an international brand that offers fashion-forward clothing at low prices, opened the two first H&M stores in Dubai last night. The stores are located in the well known Mall of Emirates, and a third store is slated to open in the Ibn Battuta mall in Dubai on Sept. 13, 2006. "We are very proud to open H&M stores in this region, which is known for its high fashion awareness," said Rolf Eriksen, CEO of the company. "Opening day was a great success, and we were very pleased to see shoppers in Dubai lining up for our fashions." The three stores in Dubai, which measure between 1,000 sq. ft. and 1,500 sq. ft., will feature an extensive collection of fashion and accessories for men, women, teenagers and children. On Sept. 20, the first H&M store in Kuwait City at Marina Mall will open. The new H&M stores in the Middle East are being established through a franchise agreement with one of the Middle East's retailers, M.H. Alshaya.
