Barneys New York Heads West

Luxury retailer Barneys New York, part of Jones Apparel Group Inc., New York, announced the scheduled opening of a new flagship store. Located at 48 Stockton St. in the Union Square section of San Francisco, the new Barneys flagship will open in fall 2007. The 60,000-sq.-ft.

store is similar to the size of its New York, Chicago, Beverly Hills and Boston counterparts, according to the San Francisco Business Journal. This store represents the fourth new flagship announcement by the company in a plan for continued expansion of both flagship and CO-OP stores to strengthen the Barneys brand.
