Loewenstein's Founder Passes Away

Hank Loewenstein, founder of furniture manufacturer Loewenstein Inc., Pompano Beach, Fla., passed away on June 10 at the age of 85. Although he sold the company in 1985, Loewenstein continued to stay involved with the interior design community. "Hank was one of the true pioneers in our industry," said

Craig Watts, president of Brown Jordan International's Contract Division. "Hank was one of the first people to partner with leading Italian chair designers 40 years ago, to bring contemporary designs to the American contract market." His legacy, Loewenstein Inc., continues to flourish by following the principles he set forth: "good design, great support and a can-do attitude."
