Callison adds Nakaoka, Roberts to New York staff

Seattle-based Callison Architecture, Inc. is expanding its New York office with additional senior staff. The New York office opened in 2003. Callison announced the addition of Christine Nakaoka as senior interior design director to the New York office, responsible for leading the creative direction as

well as strengthening the firm's presence and business in New York. Nakaoka has more than 20 years of experience in interior design working with some of the premier brands in retail. Prior to joining Callison, Nakaoka was the president of her own interior design and store services firm in New York. She has also served as vice president of store design world wide for Estee Lauder Companies, vice president of store design and visual presentation for Bergdorf Goodman and director of store planning for Federated Department Stores. Callison also announced the addition of Norman Roberts as senior interior designer to the New York office. Roberts comes most recently from Nakaoka Design, and has worked closely, as a design partner, with Christine Nakaoka for a number of years on cosmetics branding, store design and planning projects. Roberts has also worked for Estee Lauder as a director and designer for the Prescriptives line and Kate Spade Beauty. In addition, he has worked extensively in Europe in interior and industrial design for such firms as MTV and Swatch.
