Colette-Comme des Garcons store pops up in Tokyo

Following the success of several pop-up ventures or "guerilla stores," as they are called, French fashion brand Comme des Garcons merged with Parisian boutique Colette to launch a joint pop-up enterprise in Tokyo. The 1,399-sq.-ft. store, located at 5-12-3 Minami Aoyama, will be open through December of this year. The closely-edited merchandise offering includes a special iPod created by Apple and Comme des Garcons. The unit is expected to produce around $1.1 million in sales in its six-month run. The ground floor of the store is retail space, while the upstairs is an art gallery. Commes des Garcons has pop-up stores in Berlin, Barcelona, Llubjana, Slovenia, Singapore, Stockholm, Warsaw and Helsinki.
