Executive changes take place at Starbucks

Starbucks Corp., Seattle, announced yesterday that Orin Smith will retire from his roles as president and CEO of the company on March 31, 2005 to be succeeded by Jim Donald. Donald is currently president of the North American branch of the company and will serve as CEO designate until his official promotion

next year. Also, effective immediately, Jim Alling, executive vice president of business and operations U.S.A., has been promoted to the newly created position of president of Starbucks Coffee U.S.
