Home Depot posts Q4/full-year increases

The Home Depot Inc. has reported its fiscal fourth-quarter net income jumped 39 percent to $951 million from $686 million in the year-ago period. Quarterly sales improved 14 percent to $15.13 billion from $13.21 billion, with comp-store sales up 7.6 percent. For the full fiscal year, the Atlanta-based

company posted a 17 percent increase in net income to $4.3 billion from $3.66 billion. Full-year sales jumped 11 percent to $64.82 billion from $58.25 billion, marking Home Depot as the youngest company (at age 25) to exceed $60 billion in annual revenue. The average ticket price for the year was $51.15, up 3.5 percent from last year and the highest in company history.
