Best Buy's Q3 earnings double
Consumer electronics retailer Best Buy Co. Inc., Richfield, Minn., says its earnings more than doubled in the third quarter, citing strong sales of notebook computers, flat-panel televisions and digital cameras and camcorders. Earnings totaled $122 million, up from $59 million in the same quarter last
year. Sales jumped to $6.03 billion from $5.13 billion in the year-prior period. The operator of about 600 stores in 48 states and Canada said profit for the fourth quarter and full year would be slightly short of analysts' expectations.
