Kroger promotes president to CEO

David Dillon, president and COO of Cincinnati-based The Kroger Co., has been promoted to CEO. Dillon succeeds Joseph Pichler, who will stay on as chairman. The company says the board intends to elect Dillon chairman upon Pichler's retirement
