Wal-Mart opens several smaller Neighborhood Markets
Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Bentonville, Ark., has opened seven new Neighborhood Markets this month, with three more units scheduled to open next week. The seven new stores are located in El Paso, Dallas and Allen, Texas; Mobile and Center Point, Ala.; Oviedeo, Fla.; and West Valley City, Utah. Three more
markets are slated to open next week in Houston, Dallas and Tulsa, Okla. Wal-Mart says it currently operates about 46 Neighborhood Markets in the United States, with plans to add approximately 20 to 25 new units in the upcoming fiscal year.
