Home Depot to launch lawn and garden store prototypes
The world's largest home improvement chain The Home Depot Inc., Atlanta, will open the first of three lawn and garden prototype stores in the Atlanta area at the end of the month. The first Home Depot Landscape Supply location will open on Aug. 29 in Duluth, Ga., with the other two Atlanta stores scheduled
to open on Sept. 12. The nursery test scores come as consumer spending on lawn and garden continues to grow. Gardening consumers spent $37.7 billion last year alone, a 13-percent rise from 2000. The company has also applied for a permit to build a fourth Landscape Supply store in Dallas.
