H&M profits up 37 percent in second quarter

Swedish fashion retailer H&M announced its pre-tax profits in the second quarter at $220 million--a 37-percent increase from the same period last year--due largely to success in the company's U.S. and German markets. The company currently operates 801 stores in 14 countries with plans to open 55

new retail outlets by the end of the year, mainly in the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, France and Germany.
